The place is very different in the day. It's a lot quieter, though still packed with "expats", very few locals.
This is the chocolate bar which MS hopes to try. The ambience is pretty good.
I had initially planned to take YQ for lunch at the Japanese Cafe but by the time we found the place, lunch time was over and they served only afternoon tea. We decided to walk to Clarke Quay instead and probably have lunch at Central.
As we crossed over the bridge and walked past Merchant Court Hotel, we had a change of plan again. This time, we decided to have high-tea (cum lunch & dinner) at Ellenborough Cafe.
We were 10 minutes early when we joined the queue. Wow, so many people actually came here for high-tea.
It was more like lunch than high-tea. We had quite a lot of dim-sum but honestly, the chinese restaurants like Tung-Lok served better dim-sum.
Most of the people flocked to the prawn counter for fresh tiger prawns.
At the end of 2 hours, we were so full and bloated that we had to skip dinner. We didn't really eat a lot. Perhaps age has caught up with us. We can no longer eat as much as before.
